The private lives of the beauties of the runway!

A candid story of the girls who do not return to marry the boys back home!

A paperback original first edition by Orrie Hitt. Cover uncredited.

Hitt was as prolific a writer as any, from the ’50s to the early ’70s. I’ve yet delve into any of his books, having bought what I’ve bought because of the covers. They register just high enough on my sleaze-meter to keep them off of my to-read  stack. Some articles I’ve read about Hitt refer to his writings as hard boiled, which would qualify him for consideration, but the seedier elements seem to override any potential redeeming qualities. Yes, I’m judging books by their covers..
